Meridian Police Department
The Meridian Police Department reported the following arrests between 8:44 a.m. Monday and 8:43 a.m. Tuesday:
• Aggravated assault – Jaquarius D. Nelson, 19, 2420 Old Marion Road, Meridian.
• Simple assault – Tevin Cole, 23, 3780 Rufus Martin Road, Meridian.
• Carrying a concealed weapon – Dentrey J. Jones, born in 1989, 2007 34th Ave., Meridian.
• Possession of marijuana with intent to distribute – Michael Jamar Crowther, 23, 155 Stephens Road, Newton.
• Failure to appear (justice court) – Shantari Jenay Lewis, 29, 10130 Morgan Road, Meridian.
Incident Reports
The Meridian Police Department reported the following incidents from Monday to Tuesday:
Robbery
• 1400 block of 24th Avenue, Meridian.
Shootings
Meridian police responded to 12 shots-fired calls. Officers were unable to find evidence to support the calls.
Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Department
The Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Department reported the following arrests between 8:44 a.m. Monday and 8:43 a.m. Tuesday:
• Contempt for child support – Fredrick Darnell Carter, 33, 6528 Confederate Drive, Marion.
• Possession of drugs within correctional facility, two counts – Hentrell D. Purnell, 22, 803 29th St., Meridian.
• False pretense – Steven Cole Smith, 26, 11593 Skelton Road, Duncanville, Ala.
