BRANDON, Miss. (AP) — Later this month, the City of Brandon will start using a drone to get a closer look at things around the city.
WLBT-TV (http://bit.ly/1YqGHw8 ) reports Mayor Butch Lee says the $4,000 drone can be programmed to take pictures or video of certain areas, such as storm drains or water towers. The technology will make it easier to pinpoint problem spots and determine solutions.

The tool will also be used to capture aerial views of events at Shiloh Park and the new amphitheater coming to Marquette Road.
The city’s GPS Coordinator will operate the drone.
