- Dexter Kelley (left) has been charged with first-degree murder in the beating death of his 16-year-old cousin, Cliff Allyn of Vancleave.
PASCAGOULA, Miss. (AP) — Jackson County authorities say a 16-year-old, whose body was found last week in the woods about 200 yards from his grandmother’s home in rural Vancleave, died from a beating.
Sheriff Mike Ezell says 19-year-old Dexter Kelley is accused in the killing of his cousin Cliff Allyn.

At a court appearance Tuesday, multiple news outlets report County Court Judge T. Larry Wilson denied Kelley bond and said an attorney would be appointed to represent him.
Ezell said Allyn’s official cause of death is blunt force trauma to the body from a beating.
Kelley is being held at the Jackson County jail on a first-degree murder charge since his arrest Thursday. He was arrested shortly after sheriff’s K-9s discovered Allyn’s body.
