Lincoln County teen fatally shot at party

BROOKHAVEN, Miss. (AP) — Authorities say a Lincoln County teen is dead after a shooting at a party.
Sheriff Steve Rushing says 17-year-old Wesley Blazier was shot in the head at a party at a home on Highway 550 early Sunday morning.

Rushing tells local news outlets another 17-year-old has been charged with manslaughter.
He says homeowners were out of town at the time of the party.
The sheriff says the teens were handling a pistol when it discharged.
He says the case will be presented to a grand jury.
