Five named to Mississippi Outdoor Hall of Fame

    The second class of the Mississippi Outdoor Hall of Fame has been announced by the Mississippi Wildlife Heritage Museum Foundation. The five outdoorsmen will be honored at the Mississippi Wildlife Heritage Museum when it opens in Leland next year.

    — Jack Dudley, from DeKalb, is the state’s first nationally known turkey hunter. He was the world champion and the King of Kings Calling champion using only his natural voice.

    — Henry Milner from Vaiden, is one of the state’s most talented and innovative outdoorsman. He is a pioneer turkey hunter, call maker, and lure designer, and has been a mentor to several generations of young hunters and fishermen.

    — Bill Tinnin, from Inverness, is known as the “Dean of the Delta coon hunters” and is another of our state’s legendary outdoorsmen. Tinnin hunted coons and raised coon dogs for more than 75 years.

    — Paul Ott, from Summit, is one of America’s foremost voices for conservation. The host of “Listen to the Eagle” radio show, he has entertained millions of people with his conservation-based programs.

    — Melvin Tingle, from Learned, is the long time popular host of the television show “Mississippi Outdoors.” He has spent his adult life traveling our state promoting our outdoorsmen and vast natural resources.
