Services for Louise Harmon will be Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Marion, with the Rev. David Sellers officiating. Burial will follow in Gum Log Cemetery with Stephens Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Harmon, 89, of Marion, passed away Monday in Newton. She retired as a secretary and laboratory technician for the United States Department of Agriculture. A member of First Baptist Church of Marion, she was very active in her church, teaching numerous Sunday school classes and participating in several women’s and seniors church and civic organizations. She will be remembered as a lifelong learner, always staying busy. But most of all as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Survivors include her sons, Gary Harmon and wife, Lesha, and Dr. Frank Harmon and wife, Nancy; grandchildren, Betsy Harmon Potter and husband, Steve, Jon Micah Harmon and wife, Nicole, Bob Harmon and wife, Bobbie, Elizabeth Harmon Threatt and husband, Patrick, Frank Harmon and wife, Kelsie, and Debbie Harmon Ward and husband, Brandon; 12 great-grandchildren; sister, Wilma White Benthall; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Thelma White; husband, Hubert Harmon; and daughter, Martha Louise Harmon.
Pallbearers will be Jon Micah Harmon, Bob Harmon, Frank Harmon, Patrick Threatt, Brandon Ward, Steve Potter and Wayne Benthall.
Visitation will be today, from 5-8 p.m., at the funeral home.
