Oyster, pearl themed objects for New Year’s Eve on the Coast

BILOXI, Miss. (AP) — Biloxi and D’Iberville will join other cities across the country in having their own lighted, locally themed objects to mark the start of the new year.
The Sun Herald reports (http://bit.ly/1OxfNCl) the Maritime & Seafood Industry Museum in Biloxi is planning a New Year’s Eve Oyster Drop from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m.

Scarlet Pearl Casino Resort also has announced “The Raising of the Pearl” at the stroke of midnight Thursday in D’Iberville. An illuminated pearl will rise into the air from the top of the 18-story hotel along with sparklers and “noiseless fireworks.”
