Holley Garrard Speed and Michael Mallie Davis II of Meridian were married Saturday, June 20, 2015, at First Christian Church, with the Rev. Lea Marcella McCracken officiating.
Parents of the couple are Mrs. Susan Hollenbeck Speed of Meridian, Mr. Marvin Bennett Speed of Enterprise, and Mr. and Mrs. Michael Mallie Davis of Meridian.
Grandparents of the bride are the late Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Wade Hollenbeck Sr. of Steele, Mo., and the late Mr. and Mrs. James Marvin “Buck” Speed of Carthage and Meridian.
Grandparents of the bridegroom are the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert H. Irby and the late Mr. and Mrs. Erskine Mallie Davis, all of Meridian.
Music for the ceremony was provided be Pep Speed, brother of the bride, soloist; Ruth Fletcher, pianist; Laura Leigh Dobson, violinist; and Denis McLemore, organist.
The bride was given in marriage by her father. She wore a fitted off- the-shoulder almond colored gown with an ivory bandaged tulle overlay. Her custom mantilla was accented with lace from her mother’s wedding veil, and her magnolia necklace was a gift from the bridegroom.
Matron of honor was Susannah Speed Wood of Hendersonville, Tenn., and the bride’s proxy was Emily Abney Anders of Meridian. Ann Hagan Wood and Mary Carson Wood of Hendersonville, Tenn., were flower girls.
Michael Mallie Davis of Meridian was best man. Ushers were Quint Laroy Hunt of Jackson, Ashley Zane Royal of Meridian, Kyle Aaron Stiefel of Meridian, Wesley Price Wood of Hendersonville, Tenn., and Samuel Randolph Eakes of Meridian, who also served as reader.
Henley McCracken served as acolyte. Marcy McCracken and Lauren Raye Goodman were torch bearers and Kerby McCracken was cross bearer. Program attendants were Lia Hollenbeck and Paige Hollenbeck.
A jazz brunch reception was held at Soule Steam Feed Works Industrial Heritage Museum.
After a honeymoon in Grenada, the couple resides in Meridian, where Mrs. Davis is employed by Meridian Public School District and Mr. Davis is employed by Magnolia Beverage Company.
