“If anyone has material possessions and sees his brother in need but has not pity on him, how can the love of God be in him?” 1 John 3:17
Praise belongs to God as every need since 2009 has been met. Thanks to everyone who has generously given over the years to change and enhance lives physically, financially, and spiritually. Each week I stand in awe of God as I witness God’s provision in our lives.
Today’s need concerns eight circumstances. These circumstances are a compilation of people who shared with us their stories. These stories protect the confidentiality of the individuals. The first need is a single mother with two children. One of the children has been very sick during the last few months. She missed several days of work when the child was hospitalized. We can assist with her rent and utilities as she returns to work.
The second need is a single father with two children. He has multiple health issues but continues to work. He is doing his best to work and not apply for disability. However, his health is declining. We can provide his mortgage and utilities while he tries to regain his health.
The third need is a single mother with three children. She had emergency surgery and will be off work for a minimum of two more weeks. She is worried her utilities will be cut off before she will receive another paycheck. Providing rent and utilities will help her greatly.
The fourth need is a young lady who applied for prescriptions through the Prescription Assistance Program. She has been approved for the program but needs at least one month’s prescriptions before the program starts. In the meantime we can assist with these lifesaving prescriptions.
The fifth need is a mother with two children who are both in the military serving our country in different parts of the world. She recently moved back to Meridian after her children were deployed. She had some health issues requiring her to miss work for two weeks. We can provide rent as she regains her health.
The seventh need is volunteers to assist with Christmas for foster children. You can call Felissa at the Wesley House at 601-485-4736 who will give you the age of a child to purchase gifts for. Social workers will come by the Wesley House to deliver the gifts to the children in the counties they have been placed. Thank you to all of you who will help make Christmas special for these foster children.
The eighth need is batteries for Christmas packages distributed through the Wesley House. The Wesley House tries to provide batteries for the items requiring them. AA is the most needed size, but all batteries sizes are needed. You can help make Christmas packages complete by dropping off batteries at the Wesley House.
With $3,120.00 we can meet all these needs. Thank you for allowing God to show provision for these needs through your prayers and giving.
For your information, any story will be shared after all needs and individuals have been processed through the Wesley Clearing House. Proof of I.D., pay stubs, tax records, and a social security number for each member of the household must be provided. In addition, any child over 18 must provide income information, copies of any outgoing bills, and proof of any subsidy such as food stamps, housing allowance, etc. This extensive application process ensures the people and the situations they face are real. God is so good! Thank you for being somebody He can use. Please pray for each need and see if God gives you the means to help. If He puts it on your heart, please act on it.
