Mike Reed, left, president of the Mississippi Council of the Navy League, joins Lara Bell and her husband, Lt. Cmdr. James Bell at the presentation of the Military Spouse Volunteer of the Year award during the Navy League’s recent annual meeting. Lara, who was nominated by her husband, is an active volunteer with Meridian Little Theatre, the Distinguished Young Women of Mississippi program and Central United Methodist Church. She is also an member of the Training Squadron 9 Spouses Club.
