Meridian Police Department
The Meridian Police Department reported the following arrests between 8:44 a.m. Thursday and 8:43 a.m. Friday:
Misdemeanors
• Simple assault – Jamie L. Kelly, 38, 3510 Sweet Gum Bottom Road, Meridian. Kelly is also charged with trespassing and contempt of court.
• Driving under the influence (DUI), first offense – Veronica Moorehouse-Cole, 53, 3117 Savell Drive, Meridian. Cole is also charged with no liability insurance, driving without a license, and disregard of traffic device.
• Embezzlement – Brandon T. Oakes, born in 1997, 5706 Russell Topton Road, Meridian.
• Shoplifting – Chasity C. Booker, born in 1995, 570 Alamucha Whynot Road, Meridian.
• Possession of marijuana – Justin S. Kimbrough, born in 1994, 4608 25th Court, Meridian.
• DUI – Jim Delker, born in 1961, 8946 Lake Flora Drive, Meridian.
• Child neglect – Tiana Young, born in 1990, 1327 30th Ave., Meridian.
• Simple assault, two counts – Terikay Rackley, born in 1990, 1803 12th Ave., Meridian.
• Begging – Allen Gaston, born in 1981, 57 Leroy Singley Road, Meridian.
• Embezzlement – Charles Page, born in 1956, 1005 Martin Luther King Drive, Meridian.
Felonies
• Motor vehicle theft – Angela D. Gibbs, 41, 1815 14th Ave., Meridian. Gibbs is also charged with contempt of court.
• Burglary – Charles Cherry, born in 1972, 207 46th Ave., Meridian. Cherry is also charged with trespassing.
• Felon in possession of a firearm – Richard Lewis Jr., born in 1980, 2301 35th Ave., Meridian.

Auto Burglary
• 5000 block of Highway 493, Meridian.
Residential Burglary
• 2400 block of Old Marion Road, Meridian.
Robbery
• 2800 block of 25th Street, Meridian.
Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Dept.
The Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Department reported the following arrests between 8:44 a.m. Thursday and 8:43 a.m. Friday:
• Armed robbery – Alexander Nyensuah Ballentine, 19, 2201 Vaughn Lakes Boulevard, Montgomery, Ala. Ballentine is also being held for outside agency.
• Simple assault, domestic – Eric Tylon Brown-Beason, 24, 524 East Church St., Newton. Beason is also charged with petit larceny, up to $1,000.
• Burglary of dwelling, house – James Leon Harrison Jr., 49, 5025 37th St., Meridian.
• Disturbing the peace – Damien Maquell Jackson, 18, 44 Headstart Road, Meridian.
• DUI, first offense – Taylor H. King, 29, 115 Jawes Drive, Vicksburg. King is also charged with careless driving and failure to use turn signal.
• Failure to appear (justice court), three counts – Demarcus Diontes Thompson, 25, 2293 Russell Mt. Gilead Road, Meridian.
