Christmas on Courthouse Square in Butler Dec. 3

    BUTLER, Ala. – The town of Butler and Choctaw County are gearing up for the annual Christmas on Courthouse Square, which is Dec. 3.

    On tap are a Winter Wonderland – including snow and an interactive gingerbread house – sponsored by the Choctaw County Chamber of Commerce, which will begin by 5 p.m.

    The annual Christmas tree lighting will begin at 6 p.m., followed immediately by the Christmas parade. The theme for the parade is  “Reason for the Season.” Santa Claus will make a special appearance on the Butler Volunteer Fire Department fire truck.

    The Sounds of Mobile will take the stage on Church Street after the parade and Choctaw County High School students will sell hot chocolate, coffee and glow sticks to help build softball and baseball fields. The American Legion Post 81, VFW 3223, and Auxillary 3223 will sell barbecue sandwiches, nachos, and soda and water.

    The town of Butler will also have a free photobooth with Christmas photo props.
