Lauderdale County Deputy Sheriff Ward Calhoun said Rodricus Demond Huggins, Darrell Chase Hatcher, Joshua Ira Gallant and Jason Shaun Naylor, all of Meridian, have been charged for their involvement in the case of Monica Vaughn, who has been accused of violating the Human Trafficking Act.

Vaughn, 41, was charged last week with human trafficking in what investigators are calling a drugs-for-sex scheme. Authorities said a woman was forced to have sex with people, who in return gave illegal drugs to those who prostituted her against her will. Investigators believe only illegal drugs, and not money, was exchanged in the transaction.

Vaughn is in custody in the Lauderdale County Detention Facility on a $100,000 bond.

Huggins, 25, has been charged with rape. He is in custody in the Lauderdale County Detention Facility on a $50,000 bond.

Hatcher, 38, has been charged with sexual battery, as well as possession of methamphetamine with intent. He is in custody in the Lauderdale County Detention Facility on a $50,000 bond for sexual battery, and a $10,000 bond for possession of methamphetamine.

Gallant, 33, has been charged with rape. He posted a $50,000 bond.

Naylor, 39, has been charged with rape, which carries a $50,000 bond. He also has been charged with murder in the case of Michael Lane Mosley, a Lauderdale County man who has been missing since June 24. The murder charge carries a $250,000 bond.

“The case has developed to where there was enough evidence to file an affidavit and make an arrest charging Jason Naylor with the murder of Michael Mosley,” Calhoun said.

Naylor was out on two felony bonds of aggravated domestic violence. However, because he was out on bond and was charged with a new felony, he is not eligible for bond, Calhoun said.

Naylor is in custody in the Lauderdale County Detention Center.

Naylor is one of four people charged in the Mosley case. Shaun Michael Gibbs, 26, and Mindy Brooke Weaver, 25, also have been charged with murder. Megan Rena Alexander, 29, has been charged with accessory after the fact to murder.

Mosley’s body has not been located.

“This case is not finished. We are still working on it and will continue to chase down leads,” Calhoun said.
