‘A Time to Kill’ coming to McCain Theater stage
The chance to watch a tale of small-town Southern justice unfold will come to life when Meridian Community College’s Arts & Letters Series brings “A Time to Kill” to the McCain Theater stage.

This suspenseful stage adaptation of John Grisham’s debut novel runs Thursday through Saturday at 7 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m.
“A Time to Kill” tells the story of a young, idealistic lawyer, Jack Brigance, defending a black man, Carl Lee Hailey, for taking the law into his own hands following an unspeakable crime committed against his young daughter.
The play, adapted by Rupert Holmes, was presented on Broadway in the fall of 2013.
MCC’s Fine Arts Division is presenting this local production. Dr. Todd Brand, chair of the fine arts division, noted that because of the play’s themes, it may not be suitable for younger audience members.
Cast includes Caleb Thaggard as Jake Brigance; Caleb Landrum as Vernon Pate; Tyrus Hill as Ozzie Walls; Steve Nabors as Omar Noose; Madison Bradley as Daisy Tyndale; J.D. Harris as Carl Lee Hailey; Dr. Todd Brand as Rufus R. Buckley; Caroline Calhoun as Norma Gallo, Eli Brand as Billy Ray Cobb; Walt Herrington as Pete Willard; Tom Fair as Lucien Wilbanks; Hope Gates as D.R. Musgrove; Katherine Kennedy as Ellen Roark; Timeiya Harris as Gwen Hailey; Pete Willis as Dr. W.T. Bass; Cooper Blackwell as Terrell Grist; and Ryder Leifried as Dr. Wilbert Rodeheaver.
