Meridian Police Department

    The Meridian Police Department reported the following arrests between 8:44 a.m. Friday and 8:43 a.m. Monday:

    Misdemeanors

    • Hindering prosecution, first degree – Wentrell Bell, 18, 4855 McDade Road, Meridian.

    • Simple assault, domestic – Brian Torrez Dixon, 33, 1001 34th Ave., Meridian.

    • Hindering prosecution, first degree – Mykel A. Randle Sr., 20, 4917 Askew Road, Savoy.

    • Driving under the influence (DUI) – Kenyetta M. Martin, born in 1979.

    • Simple assault, domestic – Brandon Williams, born in 1981, 1316 44th Ave., Meridian.

    • Disturbing the peace – Roberta Ryals, born in 1954, 421 Willow Ridge Drive, Meridian.

    • DUI – Quiton L. Harvey, born in 1983.

    • DUI – Ricky Naylor, born in 1964, 2411 Second Ave., Meridian.

    Felonies

    • Shooting into a house, dwelling – Lederius J. Chaney, 15, 537 Water Alley, Meridian. Chaney is also charged with shooting into a vehicle and participating in gang activity.

    • Shooting into a house, dwelling – Jaylon Jashun Ruffin, 16, 3521 35th Ave., Meridian. Ruffin is also charged with shooting into a vehicle.

    • Escape – Craig Monroe Toole, 21, 248 Old Marion Road, Meridian. Toole is also charged with felon in possession of a firearm.

    The Meridian Police Department reported the following incidents from Friday to Monday:

Auto Burglaries

    • 1600 block of 24th Avenue, Meridian.

    • 3700 block of Valley Street, Meridian.

Commercial Burglaries

    • 100 block of 23rd Street, Meridian.

    • 2200 block of Highway 19 North, Meridian.

Residential Burglaries

    • 1500 block of 19th Street, Meridian.

    • 3400 block of State Boulevard, Meridian.

    • 1800 block of 37th Avenue, Meridian.

    • 4500 block of Highway 39 North, Meridian.

    • 2500 block of 45th Avenue, Meridian.

    • 7700 block of Highway 39 North, Meridian.

Shootings

     Meridian police responded to 4 shots-fired calls. Officers were unable to find evidence to support the calls.

Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Department

    The Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Department reported the following arrests between 8:44 a.m. Friday and 8:43 a.m. Monday:

    • Simple assault, domestic – Ashley Abdulmogni, 35, 9285 Hilltop Road, Meridian.

    • Simple assault, domestic – Samier Abdulmogni, 33, 2812 Highway 495, Meridian.

    • Telephone harassment – James Robert Broadway, 49, 6817 Zero Road, Meridian.

    • DUI, first offense – Corey Tyrell Chambers, 23, 3235 Russell Mt. Gilead Road, Meridian. Chambers is also charged with seat-belt violation, careless driving and violation of insurance card in vehicle law.

    • DUI, first offense – Charlie Louis Covington, 25, 4092 Windsor Road, Meridian.

    • DUI, first offense – Joshua Lee Davis, 29, 6915 Valley Road, Meridian. Davis is also charged with petit larceny, up to $1,000.

    • Petit larceny, up to $1,000 – John Ray Dunn, 41, 11980 Highway 496, Philadelphia. Dunn is also charged with probation violation/parole.

    • Contempt for child support – Joseph Randolph Gilbert, 33, 2323 34th St., Meridian.

    • DUI, first offense – John Hunter Gist, 27, 5874 Vimville Causeyville Road, Meridian.

    • Willful trespassing, seven counts – Johnny Hart, 3654 Vera Drive, Lauderdale.

    • Failure to pay (justice court) – Quinton Letron Harvey, 32, 9510 Route 3, Dekalb.

    • DUI, other substance – Audrey Media Hill, 35, 3654 Vera Drive, Lauderdale. Hill is also charged with seat-belt violation, no license tag, careless driving, violation of insurance card in vehicle law, driving with a suspended license, no turn signal, disorderly conduct and interfering with police duties.

    • Intent to be fraudulent – Wendy Nolan, 41, 1913 26th Ave., Meridian.

    • DUI, first offense – Jessie J. Portis, 54, 8127 Prescott Road, Lauderdale. Portis is also charged with speeding.

    • Possession of drugs in a correctional facility – Marcell Simmons, 38, 436 High Place, Meridian.

    The Mississippi Department of Corrections reported the following arrests between 8:44 a.m. Friday and 8:43 a.m. Monday:

    • DUI, first offense – Ricky Naylor, 51, 2411 Second Ave., Meridian. Naylor is also charged with careless driving, seat-belt violation, contempt for child support and probation violation/parole.
