In the reality TV show “The Deadliest Catch,” cameras follow crab fishing boats as they travel the Bering Sea. The most intense moments of the show often center on the life-and-death struggles the fishermen go through on the unpredictable waters as they search for rich fishing spots.

Those dangers are real, according to new data about dangerous careers. In a Career Trends list of the 25 most dangerous occupations, fishers topped the list by a wide margin.

Career Trends put the list together using the most recent data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics by finding the occupations that had the most reported fatalities per 1,000 full-time workers from 2011 to 2013.

According to the data, fishers have more than 60 fatalities for every 1,000 employees. That is 44 more than farmers and ranchers, which are No. 2 on the list.

Other occupations highlighted on the list include tree trimmers, pilots, barbers and door-to-door salesmen. Click here to read the full report from Career Trends.
