Mississippi Power is an outstanding company, made up of 1,500 dedicated employees who come to work each day to make sure the lights come on every time customers flip the switch. I’m on a team with folks who are also committed to helping make the communities where we live and work a better place.
To have been asked to serve as president of Mississippi Power, the company that gave me my first job, is humbling to say the least. I want to assure our more than 186,000 customers and the communities we serve that we will remain a company committed to providing them with world-class service.
I’m very proud of my Mississippi roots. I grew up along the beautiful Gulf Coast and went on to earn degrees at Mississippi State University and the University of Southern Mississippi. This is home.
Since my return to Mississippi earlier this year as the company’s executive vice president, I have been visiting our communities and listening to our customers. I have heard your concerns as well as your compliments.
We know we have challenges before us and we will address those with the same spirit of resiliency that carried us in the wake of Hurricane Katrina.
Every action we take is a deliberate effort to build on our nearly century-long legacy of service to southeast Mississippi — from linemen making maintenance calls to the way we interact with customers in our business offices, from preparing for storms before they strike to building new generation to meet energy demand, from protecting our environment to volunteering for countless community service projects.
I look forward to working for you; I look forward to working with you. Together, we can move our region forward, attract new business, grow our economy and make this place we call home even better.
