The Sumter County Fine Arts Council is hosting an evening of fine dining and music Nov. 3 in the Bell Conference Center on the University of West Alabama campus.
Erik Larson and Dr. Manley Blackwell will present a recital of works for oboe, English horn and piano, featuring music by Franz Krommer, Benedetto Marcello and Jenni Brandon. Larson performs with the Manhattan Chamber Philharmonic and the Carolina International Orchestra. Both he and Blackwell are members of the UWA faculty.
The dinner will begin at 6 p.m., followed by the recital at 7:15 p.m. The cost of a dinner/performance ticket will be $14 for SCFAC members and $24 for non-members. The additional $10 is the regular admission charge to a SCFAC performance event for non-members. Non-members are encouraged to purchase a membership with SCFAC.
Because dinner seating is very limited in the Bell Conference Center, reservations must be made by Monday, Oct. 26 at 5 p.m. For more information or to make a reservation, contact Vivian Hauser at 205 652-3611 or, if after 5 p.m., at 205 652-7718.
