Two women indicted on drug trafficking charge in Newton County

    Two Texas women accused of drug trafficking were indicted by a Newton County Circuit Court Grand Jury this week.

    Roselie Padilla, 35, and Carolina Bejarano Macedo, 36, were arrested Sept 6, 2014 by the Newton Police Department after they were pulled over on Interstate 20. Police said they found two kilos of cocaine in their vehicle, with an estimated street value of about $250,000.

    Macedo, of 112 County Rd. 547-C, Angleton, Texas, was released after posting bond this week. Padilla, address unavailable, remained in custody Friday at the Newton County jail. Her bond was set at $60,000.

    Other indictments issued this week include:

    * Jessica Jason, possession of methamphetamine and possession of amphetamine.

    * Charles Otha Gray, Jessica Jason and Gregory Alan Dillard, possession of methamphetamine while in possession of a firearm, possession of marijuana while in possession of a firearm and possession of hydrocodone and acetaminophen.

    * Timothy Brian Barnett, possession of methamphetamine.

    * Tyski Jovann Wells, sale of methamphetamine.

    * Adolpho M. Mann, possession of methamphetamine.

    * James T. House, failure to pay for timber acquired for resale.

    * Riley Keith Brackeen, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

    * Percy Ledale Loper, DUI-third or subsequent offense.

    * Jamie Winters, possession of methamphetamine.

    * Bryan Joseph Colligan, possession of methamphetamine.

    * George Anthony Dukes, three counts of business burglary.

    * Gary Warren Goss, possession of a cell phone in a correctional facility.

    * Shon Maurice Pugh Jr., two counts of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

    The next session of Newton County Circuit Court opens Dec. 1 in Decatur.
