Two women have been arrested and a man is being sought in the case of a missing man authorities believe was murdered.
Lauderdale County resident Michael Lane Mosley, 32, was reported missing by his parents June 24.
Lauderdale County Sheriff Billy Sollie said Mindy Brooke Weaver, 25, has been arrested and charged with murder in Mosley’s disappearance. Also arrested was Megan Rena Alexander, 29, who is charged with accessory after the fact to murder.
A third suspect, Shawn Michael Gibbs, 26, is wanted on a charge of murder in connection with the case, Sollie said.
“Gibbs has been listed on the National Crime Information Center computer, and whether he is located here in Lauderdale County or in California, we will go get him,” Sollie said. “If anyone has any information concerning the location of Gibbs, please do not attempt to make contact with him. We consider him to be armed. and dangerous.”
Sollie said although Mosley has not been located, information obtained Friday indicates he is deceased and that his death was the result of foul play.
“We will continue to actively look for his body, for the sake of the family,” Sollie said. “We have spoken with the family, and they are pleased with our investigation, but this family needs to find their loved one so they can find closure.”
Sollie said based on their investigation, there could be more arrests made as the investigation continues.
“We do believe there may be additional individuals who have knowledge of this incident, and we will be pressing forward to bring those individuals to justice also,” Sollie said. “This case is far from over.”
Sollie said anyone who knows where Gibbs can be found is asked to call the Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Department at 601-482-9700 or CRIMESTOPPERS at (855)-485-TIPS.
The last reported sighting of Mosley occurred in June when deputies were called to the community of Dalewood. A woman told deputies she had run away from a group of men and was hiding in the woods with a male, whom authorities said she later identified as Mosley.
Deputies searched the area for more than an hour but were unable to locate the man the woman said she was hiding with.
