Mr. and Mrs. James Thomas Canizaro of Laurel announce the engagement of their daughter, Sarah Elizabeth, to Robert Johnson Marsalis, son of Dr. and Mrs. Wilton Lowell (Bo) Marsalis of Oxford.

    The wedding will be solemnized in late August at the Academy of the Sacred Heart Chapel in New Orleans, La., with the Rev. Anthony McGinn, S. J. officiating. A reception and seated dinner will follow at the Court of Two Sisters.

    Miss Canizaro, whose mother is the former Jacquelyn Ann Wilson of New Orleans, was graduated from R.H. Watkins High School in Laurel. She attended the University of Mississippi, where she was a member of Delta Delta Delta. She received a bachelor of science in hospitality management.

    She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Edward Canizaro formerly of Vicksburg and Mrs. John Raymond Wilson of Slidell, La. and the late Mr. Wilson.

    Mr. Marsalis, whose mother is the former Josephine Louise Nader of Jackson, was graduated from Meridian High School and the University of Mississippi, where he was a member of Sigma Chi. He received a bachelor of business administration degree in management information systems.

    He is the grandson of Mrs. Lloyd Wilton Marsalis of Meridian and the late Dr. Marsalis and Mr. Robert Eugene Nader of Jackson and the late Mrs. Nader.

    Following a wedding trip to the British Virgin Islands, the couple will reside in Oxford.
