Mrs. Susan Hollenbeck Speed of Meridian and Mr. Marvin Bennett Speed of Enterprise announce the engagement of their daughter, Holley Garrard, to Michael Mallie Davis II, son of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Mallie Davis I of Meridian.

    The wedding will take place Saturday, June 20, 2015, at 10:30 a.m. at First Christian Church, with THE Rev. Lea McCracken officiating.

    Miss Speed is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Wade Hollenbeck Sr. of Steele, Mo., and the late Mr. and Mrs. James and Marvin (Buck) Speed of Carthage and Meridian.

    The bride-elect is a 2005 graduate of the University of Mississippi, where she received a bachelor of arts degree in journalism with a minor in political science. She earned a master of education degree in school counseling from the University of West Alabama and an educational specialist degree in educational leadership and administration from Mississippi State University. She is a 1998 graduate of Lamar School.

    She was a member of Delta Delta Delta sorority and Phi Delta Kappa honor society.     Miss Speed is employed by the Meridian Public School District.

    Mr. Davis is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert H. Irby and the late Mr. and Mrs. Erskine Mallie Davis, all of Meridian.

    The bridegroom-elect is a 2004 graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi, where he received a bachelor of business administration degree. He is a 2001 graduate of Lamar School.

    He was a member of Kappa Alpha Order.     

    Mr. Davis is employed by Magnolia Beverage Company.

    A jazz brunch reception will be held at Soule’ Steam Feed Works immediately following the wedding.
