The fundraising goal is $15,000, with the proceeds to benefit the Blair E. Batson Hospital for Children in Jackson, Sam’s Club Manager Jason Collie said.

“It is really good that our company supports CMN and we at the local store want to do our part,” Collie said. “About 20 or 25 associates will be donating their time on that day to help with the carnival.”

Assistant Manager Nichole Brady said the day will be filled with fun, food and games, all for a good cause.

“Most of the games will be be between $1 and $2. You will get several chances at it and everyone will receive a prize,” Brady said. “We will have balloon darts, a cookie and brownie walk and the store manager will be the target for water balloons.”

Brady said there will be grilled hotdogs, cokes, chips, cotton candy and popcorn available for a donation.

Sam’s Club Sales Associate and CMN Champion Jan Nowlan said the event is all about helping the children.

“A lot of families don’t have the funds going into the hospital and this is just our way of contributing to the community,” Nowlan said. “It is our mission to join in and help especially when it pertains to children.”

Nowlan said another way for customers to help is to register donations.

“You may notice our Miracle Balloon icons at the registers,” Nowlan said. “If you donate $1 or more we will put your name on it and hang it on the wall at the service desk. It is just an acknowledgement of our appreciation of your generosity.”

Local businesses can also make a minimum donation of $100 or more and a 20-inch by 24-inch, poster with the business name on it, will be displayed in the club for six weeks.

Collie said fundraisers and events would not be possible without help from the associates.
