Opening ceremonies will begin at 9 a.m. with prayer led by Bro. Ken McLemore. Laura Nichols will sing the National Anthem.
Following opening ceremonies the winners of the 5K Walk/Run will be announced and candidates for elected offices will begin speaking.
Lake Chamber of Commerce Director Belinda Evans said she is excited about this year’s festival.
“We will have many activities for all ages throughout the day: local entertainment, games, door prizes, a chance on a patio set, a cake walk, and line dancing by the Dixie Chicks and Roosters from Magnolia Hall in Lake,” Evans said.
About 60 food and craft vendors will be on hand selling their wares.
“There will be good food to enjoy, like homemade ice cream, sausage dogs, hot dogs and hamburgers, nachos, funnel cakes, barbecue, brisket on the grill and all kinds of fair food,” Evans said. “In addition to the food there will be vendors selling hand-stitched towels, bamboo wind chimes, jewelry, Mothers Day baskets, wreaths, wooden toys, birdhouses and swing sets, sand art and trendy T-shirts.”

Also during the day will be the Car and Bike show hosted by the Kountry Cruizers. Entry fee for the show is $20 for one car and $15 for each additional car. Registration is from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. Voter sheets will be passed out at registration.
Teresa Brooks with Kountry Cruizers said all cars are welcome, old or new.
“We will take any cars from as far back as you can go or 2015, we are not picky,” Brooks said. “Awards will be given for best car, best truck, best race vehicle, best paint, most original, most modified and will be presented between 1 p.m. and 2 p.m.”
In addition to the car show there will be a $1,000 cash give away and door prizes for the car show participants, along with a ladies “Wet T-shirt” contest where participants toss rolled wet T-shirts into a bucket.
Other entertainment during the day will include the LakeFest Beauty Pageant; a magic show with Todd Smith of Sebastopol; a fashion show; and live music by gospel and country performers.
Children’s activities include a dunking booth, rock wall, pony rides, inflatable bounce houses and face painting.
The band Trademark of Jackson will round out the day at 6 p.m. with a free concert.
“This is our big attraction for the day,” Evans said. “They have a huge following and I have heard they have an awesome light show.”
“Come to Lake, bring your lawn chairs and have a big time,” Evans said.
