    Patrick and Sharron Brittain of Houston, Texas, announce the engagement of their daughter, Emily Kay Brittain, to Jonathan Christopher Russell, son of William and Sue Russell of Meridian.

    The wedding will take place in the month of May 2015, at Moffit Oaks Ranch in Tomball, Texas, with an enchanting, rustic Texas style reception following.

    Miss Brittain is the granddaughter of Ms. Lillie Ruth Stroud and the late Mr. Earl Preston Stroud of Beaumont, Texas, and the late Ms. Patricia Jane Brittain and the late Mr. Roy Lee Brittain Jr. of Beaumont.

    The bride-elect is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin, where she received a Bachelor’s of Art degree in Psychology. She is a 2003 graduate of Clear Creek High School in League City, Texas.

    While attending the University of Texas, she stood as an Officer of the Chair for the Disch-Falk Diamond Crew (organization for the Longhorn Baseball Program), and a member of Sigma Phi Lambda, a Christian Sorority.

    Miss Brittain has been in the Oil & Gas/Energy industry since graduation and is currently employed as a Contract Administrator II with Kinder Morgan Inc. in Houston, Texas.

    Mr. Russell is the grandson of the late Inez and Slater Sikes of Silas, Ala., Sammye Dahlberg of Walnut Grove, Ala. and the late Bill Russell of Gadsden, Ala.

    The bridegroom-elect is a graduate of Mississippi College in Clinton with a Bachelor’s of Science degree. He is also a graduate of East Mississippi Community College. Mr. Russell was a two-sport athlete throughout his college career. While at Mississippi College he earned All-American honors in football and all Region honors in baseball.

    Mr. Russell is 2003 graduate of Quitman High School in Quitman. Before Quitman High School, he attended Southeast Lauderdale High School in Meridian.

    Mr. Russell is employed by Trademark, Inc., one of the top Commercial/Industrial construction companies in Texas as a Sr. Project Manager.
