Aaron Albert “Al” Murray

            PORTERVILLE – Services for Aaron Albert “Al” Murray will be held today, Wednesday at 2 p.m. at BriggsChapelMemorialChurch with Rev. Nick Holden officiating. O’Bryant Chapel Funeral Home of Thomasville, Ala. is in charge of arrangements.

            Mr. Murray, of Porterville, died March 23, 2015 at RushFoundationHospital in Meridian. He was born March 3, 1945 in Meridian and was a professional musician and a member of BriggsChapelMemorialChurch.

            Mr. Murray graduated from LivingstonHigh School and received a Bachelor of Arts degree from MississippiState and a music degree from EastMississippiJunior College. After studying piano at the Kansas Conservatory of Music, he returned to MSU to work on graduate work.

            He is survived by one brother, Donald Briggs (Mary Frances) Murray of Thomasville, Ala.; one aunt, Mary Briggs Boyd of Meridian, and several nieces and nephews. 

            He was preceded in death by his parents, Emma Eloise Briggs Murray and Wilson Harold Murray and a brother, Jon Wilson Murray.

            Visitation will be held at BriggsChapelMemorialChurch on Wednesday, March 25, 2015 from 1 p.m. until the 2 p.m. service time. 

            Pallbearers are Bill Briggs, Greg Briggs, Clay Collins, Clint Collins, Jon (Bud) Murray, Matt Murray, and Tim Elliott.

            In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Briggs Chapel Memorial Cemetery Fund, C/O Greg Briggs, 8385 Hwy. 498 East, Porterville, MS  39352 or a charity of your choice.
