Gabriel Broom from West Lauderdale, winner of the Lauderdale County Spelling Bee, competed in the Mississippi State Spelling Bee sponsored by The Mississippi Association of Educators.  Twenty six counties participated. The winner was Dev Jaiswal, who will represent Mississippi at the Scribbs National Bee in Washington DC.
