“If anyone has material possessions and sees his brother in need but has not pity on him, how can the love of God be in him?” 1 John 3:17
Praise belongs to God as every need since 2009 has been met. Thanks to everyone who has generously given over the years to change and enhance lives physically, financially, and spiritually. Each week I stand in awe of God as I witness God’s provision in our lives.
Today’s need concerns six circumstances. These circumstances are a compilation of people who shared with us their stories. These stories protect the confidentiality of the individuals. The first need is a couple in their 80s. They had extra medical expenses last month leaving them in need of assistance. They have never asked for assistance before, but with the medical expenses adding up, they didn’t know where to turn. Providing utilities will help this couple tremendously.
The second need is a single mother with three children. She is in school and working as many hours as she possibly can. Her car broke down resulting in unexpected expenses. Assisting with her rent will allow her to fix her only form of transportation.
The third need is a single mother with one child. She was laid off for a few weeks at the beginning of the year. She has been trying her best to make ends meet since she missed those weeks of income. Catching up her rent would allow her to become financially stable.
The fourth need is a lady who has been unable to return to work after a horrific car accident. She is recuperating after her surgery and doing better. She has used all her savings to afford her bills. We can provide utilities as she returns to work soon.
The fifth need is a lady in her late 60s whose house required emergency repair. This unexpected expense was more than she could afford but had to be done to keep her home livable. A friend brought her to the Wesley House when she realized her financial situation. She is doing her best to make it by working a full-time and part-time job. Assisting with her mortgage will go a long way in helping her.
The sixth need is a lady in her 90s whose plumbing pipes burst during the recent cold weather. Her small, fixed income was not enough to cover her monthly bills on top of hiring a plumber. She has never asked for assistance before but felt she had no choice. Helping with her utilities will allow her to get back on track financially.
With $3,200 we can meet all these needs. Thank you for allowing God to show provision for these needs through your prayers and giving.
For your information, any story will be shared after all needs and individuals have been processed through the Wesley Clearing House. Proof of I.D., pay stubs, tax records, and a social security number for each member of the household must be provided. In addition, any child over 18 must provide income information, copies of any outgoing bills, and proof of any subsidy such as food stamps, housing allowance, etc. This extensive application process ensures the people and the situations they face are real. God is so good! Thank you for being somebody He can use. Please pray for each need and see if God gives you the means to help. If He puts it on your heart, please act on it.
