Virga Ora “Virgie” Jackson

    DAYTON, TENN. – Services for Virga Ora “Virgie” Jackson will be held Sunday at 3 p.m. at Salem Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Sebastopol with Rev. Chester Estes Jr. officiating. She will be laid to rest next to her husband in the Salem Cumberland Presbyterian Church Cemetery

    Mrs. Jackson, 97, of Dayton, Tenn. passed away Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2015 at Rhea Medical Center. She was born Oct. 28, 1917 in Grayson, La. to the late Tom and Mary (Harper) McKee. She was also preceded in death by her husband Howard Jackson.

    Virgie dedicated her life as a homemaker and was a member of Salem Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Sebastopol.

    She is survived by her son, Rev. Lamar Jackson of Dayton, Tenn.; grandson, Mark Jackson of Cleveland, Tenn.; granddaughter, Melanie Ann (Jeremy) Myers of Dayton, Tenn.; two great-grandchildren, Jackson and William Myers of Dayton, Tenn. and a sister, Ann Cassels of Columbia, La.

    The family is being served by Vanderwall Funeral Home in Dayton where they received friends Friday from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m.
