W.W. “Bud” Williams

   Memorial Services for Mr. W.W. “Bud” Williams will be held at a later date. James F. Webb Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

    Mr. Williams, 93, of Meridian, died Saturday, Feb. 14, 2015 at Anderson Regional Medical Center. He was born in Choctaw County, Ala.

    Mr. Williams was a veteran of World War II, proudly serving his country in the U.S. Army as a rifleman. He fought in the Asiatic Pacific Theater and was wounded in action Nov. 27, 1944 at Palau Island. His decorations and citations included the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart. He worked at N.A.S. Meridian as a civil service electrician until his retirement.

    He is survived by his children, Henry Williams, Terry Williams, and Theresa

Williams; six grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.

    He was preceded in death by his wife of 70 years, Willie Grey Long Williams;

children, Patsy Rebecca Buckley and John Earl “Chuck” Williams; parents, John Spottswood Williams, Sr. and Ida Lamar Cook; and 12 siblings that included two sets of twins.
