Meridian Police Department

    The Meridian Police Department reported the following arrest between 8:44 a.m. Wednesday and 8:43 a.m. Thursday:

    • Failure to Appear (Justice Court), four counts – Stephanie Dawn Compton, 39, 2695 Highway 496, Meridian. Compton is also charged with shoplifting.

    • 1700 block of 17th Avenue, Meridian.

    • 300 block of Sixth Avenue, Meridian.

Shootings

     Meridian police responded to three shots-fired calls. Officers were unable to find evidence to support the calls.

Lauderdale County Sheriff’s      Department

    The Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Department reported the following arrests between 8:44 a.m. Wednesday and 8:43 a.m. Thursday:

    • Robbery-Armed – Javontee Terrell, 18, 211 North Hills Street E-2, Meridian.                                                                     • Trespassing – Sean Dee Summerford, 37, 303 Crescent Lake Road, Meridian.

    • Hold/Court Order Return – Brian Marcus Knighton, 32, 1505 Cr Road, Quitman.

    • Simple Assault Causing Bodily Injury – Cathy Renee Haney, 35, 3872 Old Highway 19 Southeast, Meridian.

    • Hold/Court Order Return – Markeey Latavious Green, 19, 3218 10th Ave., Meridian.

    • Driving With Suspended License – Billie Jo Emerson, 41, 5334 Zero Road, Meridian. Emerson also faces charges for expired tag, contempt of court, and insurance card law in vehicle.

    • Bench Warrant – Gregory Coleman, 30, 5679 Highway 496, Toomsuba.
