Prep basketball roundups: Lamar High girls top Clarkdale, 43-39

Lamar High School’s three double-digit scorers propelled the Lady Raiders to a 43-39 win against Clarkdale High School in Monday night prep hoops action.

Bre Waters led Lamar with 17 points, while Karli Cruise chipped in with 11 points. Katie Shaffer ended the night with 10 points for Lamar.

For Clarkdale, Alexxis Dearing was the only double-digit scorer with 12 points. Tori Emerson and Baylie Eastman had eight points apiece.

Clarkdale will host Nanih Waiya High School at 6 p.m. today.

PATRICIAN ACADEMY 50,

RCA GIRLS 32

Payton Lippert’s double-double wasn’t enough for Russell Christian Academy as it fell to Patrician Academy.

Lippert had 17 points and 13 rebounds for RCA, and Olivia Faulkner scored eight points. Blair Robinson tallied eight rebounds.

CLARKDALE BOYS 47,

LAMAR 44

Lamar High School had no answer for Jerome Adkins, who finished with 26 points to help lead Clarkdale to a three-point win Monday.

Adkins was Clarkdale’s only double-digit scorer. Clay Boman finished the game with 15 rebounds.

For Lamar, Richard Covington led with 15 points, and Brett Shaffer had 12 points. Lance Strickland scored 11 points.

Clarkdale (8-3) will host Nanih Waiya High School at 7:30 p.m. today.
