Ward, Stephens

    Lawrence Ward of Meridian announces the engagement of his daughter, Mavis Ann “Annie”, to Thomas Cody Stephens, son of Paul and Jackie Stephens of DeKalb.

    The wedding will be Saturday, Nov. 29, 2014, at 4 p.m. at York United Methodist Church, York, Ala.

    Miss Ward is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Buddy Ward and the late Mrs. Mavis Ward, all of York.

    The bride-elect is a graduate of the University of West Alabama, where she received her associate’s degree in nursing. She is a graduate of Sumter Academy.

    While attending UWA, she was a member of Beta Beta Beta honors fraternity.

    Miss Ward is employed by Alliance Health Center.

    Mr. Stephens is the grandson of Mrs. Marie Vick and the late Mr. C.B. Vick of DeKalb and the late Mr. and Mrs. Frank Stephens Jr. of DeKalb.

    The bridegroom-elect is a graduate of Meridian Community College, where he received a degree in machine tool technology. He is a graduate of Kemper Academy.

    Mr. Stephens is employed with Hol-Mac.

    A reception will be held at York United Methodist Church.

    Family and friends are invited to attend.
