Allen, Dabbs

    Tommy and Linda Allen of Meridian announce the engagement of their daughter, Kristie Rose, to Drew Douglas Dabbs, son of Brian and Anita Dabbs of Gulfport.

    The wedding will be Saturday, Nov. 1, 2014, at 1 p.m., at the Provine Chapel of Mississippi College in Clinton.

    Miss Allen is the granddaughter of Mr. Ed Allen and the late Mrs. Joan Allen and the late Mr. Clyde and Mrs. Agnes Rose, all of Meridian.

    The bride-elect is a 2012 magna cum laude graduate of Mississippi College, where she received a bachelor of science degree in communications. She is a 2008 graduate of Lamar High School.

    While attending Mississippi College, she was selected a member of Mortar Board, Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and the MC Communications Hall of Fame. She served as vice president of Swannanoa Social Tribe and treasurer of the senior class.

    Miss Allen is employed as director of communications/missions ministry assistant at Morrison Heights Baptist Church in Clinton.

    Mr. Dabbs is the grandson of Mrs. Lula McGraw and the late Mr. Vernon McGraw of Montgomery, Ala. and the late Mr. Howard and Mrs. Betty Dabbs of Birmingham, Ala.

    The bridegroom-elect is a 2013 graduate of New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary with a master of divinity degree in biblical language and a 2008 summa cum laude graduate of Mississippi College with a bachelor of arts degree in political science. He is a home school graduate.    

    While attending Mississippi College, he was named the Most Outstanding Political Major. He was a member of Mortar Board and served as a senator in the Student Government Association.

    Mr. Dabbs is employed as minister to college students and young adults at Morrison Heights Baptist Church in Clinton.

    A reception will be held at Eudora Welty Commons in Jackson.
