Meridian Parks and Recreation is inviting youth between 6 and 15 to participate in a national competition sponsored by the NFL.
The NFL Pass, Punt and Kick contest will take place at 2 p.m. Sunday at Meridian High School’s Ray Stadium.
The contest is free and open to boys and girls, who will compete separately in five different age divisions, 6-7, 8-9, 10-11, 12-13, and 14-15.
Participants are required to wear soft soled shoes. No cleats are allowed. Contest winners have a chance to compete in the Superdome before the Saints play the Panthers on Dec. 7.
Those who wish to participate can register online at nflppk.com or in person at the stadium.
The NFL Pass, Punt and Kick program was established in 1961, and is the oldest NFL Youth Football program in existence.
