Meridian Police Department

    The Meridian Police Department reported the following arrests from 8:30 a.m. Monday to 8:30 a.m. Wednesday:

    • Simple assault – Tyneshia Washington, 19, 6305 Oakland Forrest Drive, Meridian.

    • Shoplifting – William Oglesby, 53, 47 County Road 487, Meridian.

    • Simple assault/Domestic violence – Kelvin Sumrall, 37, 2621 Green Loop Road, Lauderdale.

    • Simple assault/Domestic violence – Donald Thomas, 36, 4710 Valley St., Meridian. Thomas also faces a contempt of court charge.

    • Disorderly conduct –    Kendrick Starkes, 29, 604 49th Ave., Meridian.

    • Telephone harassment – Phyllis Bolden, 42, 391 56th Ave., Meridian.

    • Simple assault/Domestic violence – Xavier Harris, 26, 5552 Charlie Dunn Road, Meridian.

    • Disorderly conduct – Travis Bush, 34, unknown. Bush also faces a charge for giving false information.

    • Driving Under the Influence (DUI), first offense – Juan Nieves, 36, 3807 42nd St., Meridian.

    • Public drunkenness – Alan Gaston, 33,192 Lime Plant Road, Waynesboro.

    • Public drunkenness – Michael Collins, 37, 3212 25th St., Meridian.

    • Malicious mischief – Vanity Cole, 22, 3714 Valley St., Meridian.

    • Simple assault/Domestic violation – Pretoria Holt, 35, 1213 17th St., Meridian.    

    • DUI – Colt S. Callahan, 31, 10600 Road 547, Philadelphia. Callahan also faces charges for no proof of insurance and driving without a license.

    • Shoplifting – Shutila Hardy, 26, 3820 Smith St., Meridian.

    • DUI, second offense – Edward Moss, 59, 3515 33rd St., Meridian. Moss also faces charges for driving with a suspended license and failure to yield right of the way.

    • Public drunkenness – Darius Stamps, 30, 7100 Old Hwy 80 W., Meridian. Stamps also faces a charge disturbing the peace.

    • Petit larceny – Kentrell Ford Jr., 35, 4803 Hooper St., Meridian.

    • Petit larceny – Kaddaifi Gray, 23, 801 25th Ave., Meridian.

    • Petit larceny – Eddie Durr, 46, 1219 38th Ave., Meridian.

    • Petit larceny – Markyvius D. Adams, 22, 6208 D. St., Meridian.

    • Shoplifting – Kenyatta V. Bender, 19, 299 Green Hill Road, Meridian.

    • Accessory after the fact – Omeika Dejunea Brown, 18, 909 Fulton Ave., Meridian.

    • Murder – Jacoby Marquez Dixon, 20, 616 33rd Ave. Meridian. Dixon also faces a charge for felon in possession of a firearm.

    • Disturbance in a public place – Carolyn Ann Pratt, 46, 1003 30th Ave., Meridian.

    The Meridian Police Department reported the following incidents from Friday to Wednesday:

Robberies

    • 4500 block of Eighth Street.  

Stolen Vehicles

    • Three stolen vehicles over the weekend, one of which has been recovered. The other two are a 1996 White Olds Cutlass LAL516 taken from the 1700 block of 45th Avenue on Sept. 5, and a 1989 Blue Nissan pick-up CK5183 taken from the 800 block of 65th Avenue on Sept. 8.

    • 3000 block of Highway 45 North.

Auto Burglaries

    • 100-200 block of S. Frontage Road, Meridian.

    • 800 block of 29th Street, Meridian.

    • 200 block of North Hills Street, Meridian.

Residential Burglaries

    • 5100 block of Manning Street.

    • 2200 block of 39th Avenue.

    • 2100 block of 23rd Avenue.  

    • 2500 block of 16th Avenue.

    • 100 block of Old 29th Avenue.  

    • 4100 block of 58th Place.

 

Shots-fired calls

    • Meridian police officers responded to 10 shots-fired calls; no evidence found to support the calls.

Lauderdale County Sheriff’s       Department

    The Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Department reported the following arrests from 8:30 a.m. Tuesday to 8:30 a.m. Wednesday:

    • Probation violation/Parole – Brandi Lashae Dubose, 33, 6510 Tom Powell Road, Toomsuba.

    • Child support, failure to pay – Charles Edward Maxie Jr., 45, 904 27th Ave., Meridian.

    • Trespassing-willful, three counts – Georgia Suezanne Woods, 45, 1458 Will Wright Road, Meridian.
