In 1942, she married N.B. Yarbrough, her husband of more than 50 years. After N.B. retired from the Marine Corps, they settled in Meridian, where she held several secretarial positions. The highlight of her working career was the 15 years she spent as church secretary at Fifteenth Avenue Baptist Church.

After retirement, she and N.B. traveled extensively. They enjoyed catching standby military flights to places in the United State and Europe. She was a member of First Baptist Church Marion, where she was committed to her church family and her WMU Group. Her greatest joy was her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and brothers and sisters.

Survivors include her son Hal Yarbrough and wife, Judy, of Enterprise, Ala., daughter Kathie Anderson and husband, Rod, of Inlet Beach, Fla., and son Neil Yarbrough and wife, Mitzi of Eufaula, Ala.; 10 grandchildren: Scott Barham and wife, Karen, Kyle Barham and wife, Marlene, Trenton and Davis Yarbrough, Leslie Hearndon and husband, Matt, Brent, Matt and Molly Anderson, and Miles and Emma Yarbrough; three great-grandchildren, Chris and Hannah Barham, and Claire Hearndon; sisters, Elizabeth Matthews and Martha Jo Hayes; and brother, Lewis Smith.

She was preceded in death by her husband N.B. Yarbrough; and daughter, Day Williamson of Franklin, N.C.

The family requests memorials be made to the First Baptist Church Marion Building Fund.

Special thanks to her dear friends, Pam Wagner and Nancy Sanders; her pastor, Drew Dabbs; and staff and friends at Aldersgate Personal Care.
