Miles moves to Nelson Hall Chevrolet

    Wallace Miles has brought a lifetime of experience, literally, to his recently accepted position as a new sales representative for Nelson Hall Chevrolet.

    “Wallace’s father owned a car lot, so he has been involved with the automobile industry all of his life,” according to a company press release. “He was born and raised in Meridian, and has two children, Jacob and Bethany. He had worked at Bo Haarala Autoplex in Meridian before taking the position at Nelson Hall Chevrolet this fall.

    Miles said appreciates all of the folks who have done business with him and looks forward to working with many more.

    Nelson Hall Chevrolet will celebrate its 70th anniversary in 2014.

Great Southern National Bank names CEO

    Jeff McCoy has been named by the Board of Directors of Great Southern National Bank as President and Chief Executive Officer, according to Leslie Usher, Vice-Chairman. McCoy joined the bank in July, 2012 as President and Chief Operating Officer.

    A native of DeKalb, McCoy earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Banking and Finance from Mississippi State University in Starkville and began his financial career working as an Assistant Bank Examiner for the FDIC in 1976. He graduated from LSU School of Banking, Baton Rouge, LA in 1985.  McCoy has more than 34 years of banking experience in East Mississippi.

    McCoy is a member of the Kiwanis Club and serves on the Choctaw Area Council of the Boy Scouts of America Executive Board. He is also a board member of the Meridian Community College Foundation, East Mississippi Business Development Corporation, and a member of the MSU-Meridian Advisory Council.      In addition, McCoy is chairman of the East Central Planning and Development District Loan Committee.

    McCoy and his wife, Ethel Ann, are members of Central United Methodist Church. They have two children, Leah Lack (Josh) and Kyle McCoy (Angie) and one grandson Jonah McCoy.
