    The Meridian Police Department reported the following arrests between 8 a.m. Wednesday and 8 a.m. Thursday:

    • Simple assault, domestic — Cornelius D. Smith, born 1982, 3819 31st. St.

    • Simple assault — Collin L. Kent-Strickland, born 1993, 1501 Sand Ridge Road.

    • Carrying a concealed weapon — Xzavious D. Kilpatrick, born 1994, 706 12th St.

    • Simple assault — Christopher Mardis, born 1989, 6209 Oakland Park St.

    • DUI —Hyman H. Murrell, born 1965, 3321 Davis St.

    Incident Reports

    The Meridian Police Department reported the following incidents between 8 a.m. Wednesday and 8 a.m. Thursday:

    Residential burglaries    

    • Meridian Police responded to a burglary in the 1500 block of 33rd Avenue at 7:09 p.m. Wednesday. Entry was gained through a window.

    • Police responded to a burglary in the 500 block of 55th Avenue at 8:51 p.m.  Wednesday. Entry was gained through a door.

Fire Runs

    The Lauderdale County fire departments made the following fire runs on Wednesday.

    

    • Lost Gap, Meehan and Suqualena fire departments responded to a structure fire on Ridge Road.

    • Toomsuba Volunteer Fire Department responded to an EMS call on Highway 496.

    • Marion Fire Department responded to an EMS call on Lizelia Road.

    • Long Creek Volunteer Fire Department responded to a motor vehicle accident with injuries on Causeyville Road.

    • Marion Fire Department responded to a structure fire alarm on Forrest Drive.
