    The Gospelistics – known throughout the South for their inspirational and energetic brand of Southern Black Gospel – will perform at The Temple Theatre on Friday, as The Sucarnochee Revue presents Camp Meeting Revue – Peace in the Valley.

    The last of the Revue’s 2013 Season in Meridian, the show will also feature My Savior Story, the Liberty Quartet, Mississippi Senator Videt Carmichael, John Sweeney and others.

    Revue host and producer Jacky Jack White refers to the concert as “the show we look forward to every year.”

    “We all love gospel music and this is our chance to hear some awesome variety,” White said.

    Sucarnochee regulars Britt Gully and J. Burton Fuller will also perform, he added.

    Led by James Rainey, The Gospelistics is a traveling group based out of York, Ala. They have been featured on both radio and television and have performed at major folk and gospel festivals.

    Jonathan Quigley, a staff artist for Germany’s Dusenberg guitars, heads up the exciting new Contemporary Gospel group, My Savior Story.

    This unique and diverse group of Christian musicians have played all over the world. The band’s original members are Tyler Thomas, Scotty Cole, Matt Lane, Cody Miller, and Quigley – all long-time musicians dedicated to their mission of spreading God’s word. Their debut EP, Reflection, was written about the tragic shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary in Connecticut last December.

    “Many of us grew up listening to and watching gospel music. It was a vital part of our lives. Every Sunday morning before church services we would tune into the syndicated programs,” recalled White, who wrote “When Men Pray,” a No. 1 Southern gospel song in 1998 that featured many of his childhood heroes, including James Blackwood, J.D. Sumner, Brock Speer, Mark Lowery, and several other longtime gospel stars.

    “The Liberty Quartet is a popular group from Meridian that I’ve wanted on The Revue for some time. They have a loyal and large group of fans. Senator Carmichael is always entertaining and not long ago performed a wonderful original song on the Revue,” White said of the supporting Friday night lineup.

    The Sucarnochee Revue Radio Program first aired in 2005 and has been featured on radio worldwide via internet, public, and commercial stations. The Revue has been featured on public television in two documentaries and as a weekly series.
