    Whitni Johnson of Quitman and Lee Pinkerton of Quitman were married Saturday, March 9, 2013, at Dumont Plaza in Meridian with Brother Glenn Lafferty officiating.

    Parents of the bride are Robin Johnson and Willie and Julie Johnson. Parents of the bridegroom are Laurie and Mike Mizell and Wiley and Anne Pinkerton. Grandparents of the bride are Jackie Davis and William Davis and Willie Johnson and the late Doris Johnson. Grandparents of the bridegroom are Evelyn Lucas and the late Earlie Lucas and the late Son and Anne Pinkerton.

    Music for the ceremony was provided by violinists, Stephen Gwodz and James Dean, members of the Meridian Symphony Orchestra; Steve Watson, guitarist; Bride, Whitni, sang “When You Kiss Me” after the pouring of the sand ceremony.

    The bride was given in marriage by her parents, Robin Johnson and Willie Johnson. She wore a romantic beaded lace gown with a sweetheart neckline and an A-line silhouette. The delicate lace was accentuated with a beautiful beadwork of pearls and crystals. The bride wore a royal veil, measuring 180 inches in length.

    The matron of honor was Brandi Carmichael of Meridian. The maid of honor was Constance Walters of Meridian. Bridesmaids were Karri Moseley of Silas, Ala.; Natali and Mari Maegan Johnson of Quitman; Dixie Pinkerton of Quitman. Piper Smith of Brandon was the flower girl.

    The best man was Adam Carmichael of Meridian. Groomsmen were Joe Boswell of Meridian; Jeremy Meador of Meridian; Dr. Jack Andy of Meridian; Cody Hunter of Quitman. Ushers were Brandon Kelly of Tuscaloosa, Ala. and Todd Moseley of Silas, Ala. Kole Morland announced the entrance of the bride with a hand-painted sign, “Here Comes the Bride.”

    Program attendants were Karigan Teer and Emily Smith. Videographers were Johnny Morrison and Michael Smith. Wedding coordinators were April Hunter, owner of Fantasy Cottage in Quitman and Ashley Hunter.

    The newly married couple and wedding party were driven to the reception, located at the Temple Theater in Meridian by Meridian’s trolley. The reception, designed by staff of Fantasy Cottage of Quitman, was decorated with white fabric draping from each chandelier. The reception featured a candle-lit dinner catered by Carolyn’s Creation of Meridian. Guests enjoyed music by Southern Drive of Meridian.

    After the couple was sent off with a shower of sparklers held by guests, they enjoyed a honeymoon in New York City, New York.

    The bride graduated from Quitman High School and the University of Southern Mississippi with a bachelor’s degree in nursing. She is a registered nurse at Anderson Regional Medical Center in Meridian, where she works on the oncology floor. The bridegroom graduated from Clarkdale High School and Meridian Community College with an associate’s degree in nursing. He is a registered nurse and Director of Case Management at Regency Hospital in Meridian. They reside in Quitman.
