Vital Care continues to make its national mark as an industry leader in specialized care.

    Last week, National Home Infusion Association (NHIA) Executive Director Russ Bodoff was in Meridian to visit Vital Care Meridian and Vital Care Inc. Bodoff was in town to officially welcome Vital Care, Inc. Chief Executive Officer Len Branham, R.Ph., Ph.D, to NHIA’s board of directors.

    Branham was recently appointed to fill a vacancy on the prestigious industry board. NHIA is a trade association that represents and advances the interests of organizations that provide infusion and specialty pharmacy products and services to the entire spectrum of home-based patients.

    “We welcome Len to the NHIA Board,” Bodoff said. “His pharmacy practice experience, business savvy, and uniquely broad perspective on health care delivery will add significant value to the Board’s critical discussions, as we collaborate on strategies for productively moving home and speciality infusion into the future.”

    Branham, a South Carolina native, holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy from the University of South Carolina, College of Pharmacy 1992 and he earned his Doctor of Pharmacy in Pharmaceutical Health Outcomes/Health Economics in 2005. He began his career as a retail community pharmacist and opened two Vital Care franchise locations in early 2000 that focused on home infusion therapy. He later merged them together in 2005.

    In 2009, his career took a more missional role. He became the chief executive officer and director of a 160-bed, general Christian hospital in the Punjab region of Pakistan. He referred to the two-year experience as life changing.

    During his time in the mission field, he led the financial turnaround of the declining hospital, which is currently one of the premier facilities in that region for safe, quality health care. He also helped mend the health system, along with a private nursing school.

    Branham joined Vital Care, Inc. in June 2011.

    “The patient care we provide is nothing short of remarkable. It is an honor to be selected to be on the NHIA Board and will give the Meridian community a voice for home infusion pharmacy services,” Branham said.

    Last week, Jonathan Bell, president of Vital Care Meridian/Vital Care RX, also met with Bodoff during his visit and directed a tour of the company’s 23rd Avenue office in downtown Meridian.
