Robert Leonard Bridges III

    Services for Robert Leonard Bridges III will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick Catholic Church, with the Rev. Father Frank Cosgrove officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery with Robert Barham Family Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

    Mr. Bridges, 35, of Meridian, died Thursday, Feb. 14, 2013. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Mississippi State University and was the owner at Veranda Salon. He also worked as an agent with AFLAC Insurance Company, taught at Meridian High School and coached soccer. His joy was his music, painting, storytelling, tennis, soccer, and ping pong with his best friend, Jeff. He loved his son, Noah and enjoyed cooking which he was very good at.

    Survivors include his wife, Leah W. Bridges of Meridian; son, Noah Bridges of Meridian; mother, Becky Sims and husband Billy of Meridian; sisters, Kristy Pope and husband, Matt, of Meridian, and Angie Partridge and husband, Sean, of Meridian; stepbrother, John Sims of Meridian; half brother, Aaron Dunning and wife, Tenille, of Briggs, Texas; aunts, Carol Merrill and husband, Scott, and Jennifer Newman and husband, Jeb; uncle, Darrell Taylor and wife, Debra; niece, Ava Partridge; nephews, Jacob Partridge and Matt Dunning; and a special friend, Linda Holloway.

    He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Leonard Bridges, Jr.; and grandparents, Darrell and Margaret Taylor, and Robert and Carolyn Bridges Sr.

    In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to St. Patrick Catholic Church.

    Pallbearers will be Jeff Douglas, David Gordon, Chuck Gordon, Justin Dear, Charles Miller, Matt Swain, Juan Carlos, Randy Keely, Rob Ward, and Brian Weaver. Honorary pallbearer will be Ian Mackey.

    Visitation will be held Tuesday, from 5 p.m.-7 p.m., at the funeral home.
