The Barfields

Johnnie Ruth and Johnny DeLewis Barfield of Meridian will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Saturday, Oct. 27, 2012. Mrs. Barfield is the former Johnnie Ruth Brown. The couple were married Oct. 27, 1962, in Lauderdale County by the Rev. W.C. Clark. They have one daughter, Jennifer Renea Barfield-Moore (Stephen Lee); and, two grandsons: Jerremy Stephen and Jeremiah Lee, all of Meridian. Mrs. Barfield worked as a direct care worker at East Mississippi State Hospital for more than 28 years. Mr. Barfield worked as a mover and transferer for McLemore Moving and Storage for over 30 years. The Barfields are members of Oak Grove Church of God in Meridian, where Mrs. Barfield is a member of the Christian Women’s Connection and facilitates the Greeting Card Ministry, and Mr. Barfield serves as a Deacon, superintendent of Sunday School and treasurer.
