This was the second year the Job Fair was held at the Workforce Development Center, and employers and job-seekers alike enjoyed the spacious venue.

“This is a wonderful turnout,” said Kathy Null, a recruiter for N.E.W. Customer Service Companies, Inc. “We’ve been participating for years and this is one of the best we’ve attended. There were lots of individuals looking for jobs, and I found some good applicants.”

Renea Stanley, MCC’s Job Placement/Career Center Specialist, said “This year’s The Radio People and MCC Career Expo/Job Fair was a tremendous success. This is the 10th year MCC has hosted this event and it was, by far, the greatest number of vendors (employers) and job-seekers we’ve ever seen. Several businesses indicated they took multiple applications and resumes. They expect to follow up on these leads and offer employment to qualified persons.”

Fifteen employers took applications and conducted interviews, including Tower Loans, Best Buy, CEFCO, and Liberty National. The Radio People of Meridian host this annual event as a community service project, and all proceeds from vendor fees are donated to the MCC Scholarship Fund. Admission to the Career Expo/Job Fair was free to job-seekers. For those who missed the Job Fair, visit MCC’s online job board at mcc.cc.ms.us/ careerdevelopment/jobopenings.htm.
