TAME, LLC serves as an effective rehabilitative tool available to the local courts in handling offenders with any type of substance abuse, including alcohol, as well as anger management issues.
TAME is located at 1201 22nd Ave., Suite A in Meridian. Its mission is to assist local courts in reducing numbers of repetitive offenders for offenses such as DUI’s, as well as possession charges.
TAME offers education classes not only to DUI offenders but to anyone that may need an understanding of the recovery process from substance abuse. Education classes of this nature have not been available to the local court system in the past, according to TAME owner Adele Williamson Graham.
Classes are offered weekly. Each class meets for a minimum of two hours in a casual, comfortable and secure environment. The intent from the beginning is to help others achieve a lifestyle free from substance abuse and violence through an educational program of action based on honesty, integrity, and personal accountability. It is our goal to restore dignity, respectability, personal pride, and peace of mind to all of our clients.
“I have worked in the field of substance abuse treatment for the last five years,” Graham said. “This, combined with my knowledge of the inner workings of the local court systems, gives me a unique insight into our community’s educational needs. While working with the courts I noticed that there is a real need for adequate substance abuse treatment for all DUI convictions and more effective recidivism reduction strategies.”
“The program offered by TAME is designed by experienced and well educated people with “hands on” working knowledge of our community’s need to lower the number of drug and alcohol impaired drivers operating on our streets. It is a program that works with the courts and the violators to attain a safer environment for Meridian and Lauderdale County,” said former Meridian Chief Administrative Officer Ken Storms.
