John William McCormick

    Services for Mr. John William (Johnny) McCormick, 60, of Newton, will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, September 25, 2012 at Newton County Funeral Home Chapel in Newton with Dr. Brian Rushing and Bro. Theron Harris officiating. Burial will follow in Antioch Christian Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held 5-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

    Mr. McCormick died Friday, Sept. 21 at Pioneer Community Hospital in Newton.

    He enjoyed the outdoors, playing golf and he was an avid hunter and a member of Redhat Deer Club. He loved his dog Hank who was his constant companion.

    He is survived by his wife Debbie Hudson McCormick; two sons, Will McCormick of Rose Hill and Chad McCormick and wife Hemi of Rose Hill; Paige Randolph Amis and husband Colby, of Brandon; Dylan Randolph of Starkville; four sisters, Martha Ballard of Jackson; Tillie Stewart and husband Luther of Shubuta; Judy Rowell and husband Mitchell of Rose Hill; and Aurelia Pearl Alexander and husband MIke of Rose Hill; three grandchildren, Shelby, William, and John, and numerous nieces and nephews.

    He was preceded in death by his parents, John W. McCormick and Aurelia Davis McComick and his wife, Charlene Reece McCormick.

    Pallbearers will be Clay Chapman, Randy Loper, Jim Mason, John Mason, Steve Ursy, Keith Luke and Bill Freeman.

    Honorary pallbearers will be Redhat Deer Club, Dylan Randolph, Colby Amis, David Hollingsworth, Michael Alexander, Mitchell Rowell, Derrell Edwards, and Danny Ray Reynolds.
