Catching her breath while trying to put the final touches on the Blaine Little Benefit Horse Show, Bailey said all the hard work and sweat is beginning to pay off.

“We are about ready to put this event on and now that everything is almost finalized, I can honestly say it has been worth every stressful moment,” said Bailey. “This is for a great cause and I’m just happy to help the family out.”

Blaine Little fell from his horse at the Neshoba County Fair horse races suffering a severe head injury in the process. He lost his fight for life two weeks later. Now the Little family, Neil and Wendy Little of Enterprise, are faced with the costly medical expenses incurred while doctors tried to save their son.

“All the proceeds of the event will go to the Little family,” Bailey said. “We have had some sponsors and other supporters really step up and help to make this event something for the entire family, no matter if you own horses or not, to enjoy.”

Bailey said the event will be held on Sept. 22, at 10 a.m. at SunSet Arena in Philadelphia. The cost is $5 to compete in the various events. Ribbons will be awarded. JackPot Classes are $10, with half going to the benefit and half to the pot. Bailey said other activities such as a silent auction will be held throughout the show with great items.

“We will have a great many activities for the kids,” Bailey said. “Batman and other superheroes will show up and we will have cake walks, raffles and many other fun things. Heck, I might call Lynyrd Skynyrd to see if they will play a few songs.”

In addition to the horse shows, Bailey said barrel races for all ages, even on stick horses for the little ones, will be held.

General admission will be $3 with anyone 6 years old and younger getting in free.
