Ms. Jacquelyn Lyda Johnston of Laurel is pleased to announce the engagement of her daughter, Miss Julie Ann Pyatt to Mr. Frank Thomas Crockett Jr., son of Dr. and Mrs. Frank Thomas Crockett Sr. of Dothan, Ala. Miss Pyatt is also the daughter of Mr. Kevin Richard Pyatt of Pinckneyville, Ill.

The wedding will be Saturday, August 11, 2012, at 5 p.m., at First United Methodist Church in Laurel with the Rev. Gene Horton officiating.
Miss Pyatt is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Burr Johnston of Shubuta, and Mr. and Mrs. Richard Pyatt and Dr. and Mrs. Gene Stotlar of Illinois.
The bride-elect graduated magna cum laude from the University of Alabama in 2008, with a bachelors of arts in communication and information sciences. She also graduated with highest honors from West Jones High School in 2005.
While at the University of Alabama, she was a member and served as executive officer of Chi Omega fraternity, and also a member of Mortar Board, Omicron Delta Kappa, and The XXXI Honor Societies, and the University Honors Program.
Miss Pyatt is currently a Federal Affairs Associate, CFM Strategic Communications, Incorporated, in Washington D.C.
Mr. Crockett is the grandson of Mrs. Buren Earl Wells and the late Doctor Buren Earl Wells, and Ms. Sue Hodges Crockett and the late Rev. David Williams Crockett of Dothan.

The bridegroom-elect graduated from Auburn University in 2005, where he received a bachelors of arts in English with minors in business and communication. He attended the University of Alabama School of Law, where he received his Juris Doctorate in 2008, and then served as a prosecutor for the Tuscaloosa County District Attorney’s office. He is also a 2000 graduate of Northview High School in Dothan, Ala.
Mr. Crockett is currently legislative counsel in the office of U.S Representative Spencer Bachus in Washington, D.C.
Following the ceremony, a reception will be held at the Rogers-Green House.
