Man pleads guilty in explosives case

A Harrison County man told a federal judge he had a drug problem and had been out of prison a month when he began stealing explosive devices from Camp Shelby.
The Sun Herald reports 48-year-old Jimmy Lee Wilson accepted a plea bargain in U.S. District Court Monday on a charge of possession of an unregistered destructive device.
Wilson faces up to 10 years in prison and a fine of $10,000, lesser penalties than he faced on a federal indictment with multiple charges.
He will be sentenced Sept. 10.
Had the case gone to trial, the government would have presented evidence that shows Wilson and three others stole anti-tank rounds between Dec. 11 and Jan. 19, by cutting a hole in a fence at a Camp Shelby firing range.
